Timing the rut is a fickle affair. The only constant is change, because no two breeding seasons are exactly alike. One year the rut arrives as expected, the next year it hits early...or late. Award-winning journalist Jeff Murray spent a decade researching these puzzling particulars and discovered that the Moon holds the key to finalizing rut dates for any given year.
